International Development Studies (IDS) is an interdisciplinary program made to address social, political, and economic issues facing the development of emerging countries in the Global South. The program includes selected courses from the Faculty of Arts at UNB.

IDS provides students with a holistic understanding of today's important issues including the North South dialogue, globalization, poverty, indigenous concerns, ethnic struggles, and sustainable development.

The IDS program is available as a major, double major or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Arts is a four year program and covers a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions.
