For highly motivated DREAMers with considerable, unmet financial need, we conceive of our National Scholarship as the "Pell Grant."

While your GPA and test scores are important, we also look at your demonstrated dedication to community service and your capacity to overcome the obstacles and hurdles that DREAMers confront on a daily basis.

Regarding the Award:

At one of our Partner Colleges, the National Scholarship Award will cover your tuition and expenses up to a maximum of $16,500 for an associate degree and $33,000 for a bachelor's degree. Please note that certain Scholars may be eligible for a book, supply, and transportation stipend of up to $4,000 (or $1,000 each year).

The prize is renewed each year if you continue to fulfill the eligibility requirements.

More Than a Scholarship!


We have more than 70 Partner Colleges around the United States dedicated to assisting DREAMers and ready to provide you with the necessary resources you need to succeed in education. Each of our Partner Colleges assigns a Scholar Advisor to you and your fellow Scholars, both individually and collectively. You won't be on your own!

Due to the abundance of significant governmental and institutional help, we do not provide our Scholarship to DREAMers in California or Washington.

If you arrived in the nation before November 1, 2015, you are now able to apply (5 years before our round opens).

TheDream.US Immigration Eligibility Criteria:

If you fulfill the following eligibility criteria (plus the extra eligibility criteria listed below), you are qualified to apply for our scholarship:

You must be eligible for DACA or TPS or verify that you fulfill the following immigration criteria:

  • Have continuously resided in the United States since November 1, 2015, and have had no lawful status;
  • came to the United States before the age of 16;
  • have continuously remained in the United States since November 1, 2015, and have had no lawful status;
  • Have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more other misdemeanors in the categories that would have disqualified you for DACA, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety; and
  • Are currently in high school or have graduated from a United States high school or obtained a general education development (GED) certificate from a United States Program; 

Application Criteria for National Scholarships for High School and Community College Graduates in USA


High School and HSE Program Graduates:

This award may be for you if you have graduated or will graduate from high school or a GED program before the conclusion of the Spring 2021 semester.

You may still apply for our High School Graduate Scholarship if you have attended community college classes as needed to meet your financial obligations, as long as you have not earned more than 21 college credits at a community college. Dual enrollment college credits obtained while in high school do not count toward the 21 credits required.

If you meet the following criteria, you are qualified to apply:

  1. Have a serious financial need that isn't being addressed;
  2. By the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year, have graduated or will graduate from a US high school (or have achieved or will receive a high school equivalency diploma);
  3. On a 4.0 scale, graduated or will graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or above;
  4. Are not currently enrolled in a four-year university or bachelor's degree, and have not acquired more than 21 credits at a community college (excluding credits obtained in a high school pre-college or dual enrollment program);
  5. No later than the Spring term of the 2021-22 academic year, intend to enroll full-time in an associate or bachelor's degree program at a Partner College;

Community College Graduates:

This Scholarship may be for you if you have graduated or will graduate from a community college by the end of the summer of 2021 and do not have the financial resources to complete your bachelor's degree at a four-year university.

If you meet the following criteria, you are qualified to apply:

  1. Have a substantial unmet financial need; have graduated or will graduate by the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year from an approved community college or two-year degree program;
  2. A community college GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale was earned or will be earned;
  3. Are not now enrolled in or have previously been enrolled in a four-year university or bachelor's degree program;
  4. Are eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College you wish to attend; and Intend to enroll full time in a bachelor's degree program at a Partner College no later than the Spring term of the 2021-22 academic year (not applicable if it is a private Partner College).

Eligible Nationalities


USA national or permanent residence. [You must have current DACA or TPS or certify that you came to the United States before the age of 16]

Terms and Conditions:


If you have been enrolled in a 4-year college or program, you are not eligible to apply for or receive a TheDream.US scholarship.

Please note that if you have been or are currently attending a four-year school or a four-year bachelor's degree program, you are not eligible to apply for the Community College Graduate Scholarship.
