AMERICA FIRST CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS in USA: The America First Charitable Foundation is pleased to provide 10 $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students at two- and four-year technical colleges or universities who share our passion for helping others.

The America First Charitable Foundation's goal is to promote and manage educational scholarship donations. These are given out in recognition of a student's devotion to community service, as well as his or her leadership and intellectual promise. They are designed to assist members of America First in pursuing post-secondary education and training.

Every year, our foundation recognizes and provides scholarships to deserving members. This year, we will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships.

Members must be graduating high school seniors or undergraduate students presently enrolled in a two-year, four-year, or technical college or university with a love for serving and assisting others in order to be eligible.

The America First Charitable Foundation is seeking candidates that exemplify the idea of people helping people. Those who actively participate in giving back to their communities, whether via volunteering or other forms of significant time, effort, and care. Application Criteria for AMERICA FIRST CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS in USA


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • America First Credit Union member with account in good standing
  • U.S citizen
  • Graduating high school senior or enrolled college student
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average during the last three reporting periods
  • Minimum 30 community service hours

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS:

  • Official transcript of final three reporting periods at the high school and/or college/university where you were last enrolled.
  • An essay describing how your community service efforts exemplify the credit union philosophy of people helping people (must be 500 to 700 words).
  • A summary of your education history, including important lessons you learned, challenges you’ve overcome and key accomplishments, achievements.
  • Copy of U.S. birth or naturalization certificate.
  • Two letters of recommendation from a school counselor, business leader, teacher or religious leader. You must include the provider’s printed name, title & telephone number.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must submit their community service hours, grade point average, and most recent transcript. They must also write a brief essay about how their volunteer work exemplifies the credit union idea of people helping others.

The applications will be evaluated and the beneficiaries will be chosen by a selection committee made up of America First employees with a varied corporate, educational, and community experience. The applicant's race, color, national origin, religious belief, sex, marital status, age, or physical impairment are not taken into account in the selection process.
