(ISC)2 RVA Chapter Scholarship in USA: Up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Application Criteria for (ISC)2 RVA Chapter Scholarship in USA

You may be a high school junior, senior, or a current undergraduate student.
Non-members and members of the (ISC)2 RVA Chapter are eligible to apply (identities are redacted for the review/scoring process in order to preserve anonymity).
Must live in the Richmond-Metro area which includes the cities of Richmond, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg; and the following counties: Hanover, Goochland, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan, Chesterfield, Charles City, Dinwiddie, Prince George and King William.
If you are a current high school student you must be planning on attending college or university within two years.
Must be interested in studying in a field that includes a focus in cybersecurity, information assurance or similar.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Unofficial transcripts
Resume (3 pages maximum)
One Letter of Recommendation
Essay (no more than two pages and should be double-spaced)
Describe what makes you stand out from other applicants, and why you should be chosen to receive this (ISC)² RVA Chapter Scholarship.
Describe your personal and education backgrounds.
Describe what attracted you to the field of cybersecurity.
Describe your goals for your academic career and in your professional career.
Describe why you need this scholarship.
Describe hobbies or extracurricular activities and what they mean to you.

All nationalities but must live in Richmond-Metro area (see in the description)

Applicants will be scored by members of the (ISC)² RVA Chapter. Scoring will be based upon three categories:

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

Up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Awards may be used for Spring, Summer or Fall semesters.
All awards are sent directly to the school with instructions the funds be applied to tuition, fees and books. Awards are NOT sent to the recipient.
