 UNB’s mechanical engineering program offers students exciting and diverse program options including: biomedical engineering, instrumentation and control, manufacturing engineering, materials characterization and processing, and mechatronics.

Students have access to various labs, and the department is linked with various research groups and institutes, such as:

  • the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence
  • the Advanced Manufacturing Lab
  • Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory
  • Bioenergy and Bioproducts Research Lab
  • Institute of Biomedical Engineering

  2. Applicants should hold an undergraduate with a minimum GPA 3.0 Average (70%, B, or First or  Upper Second Division).
  3. Applicants are required to submit a completed application, a one-page statement describing their research interests.
  4. International Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to submit language scores. Minimum TOEFL score of 550, and a TWE score of 4.0 (computer based scores would be 213 and 4.0 or greater and Internet score of 92, writing and speaking minimum 25). IELTS (minimum score of band 7); MELAB (minimum score of 85); or CanTest (minimum score of band 4.5).
