These are the international student eligibility for the Applied Mathematics - MMath in Canada

  • An overall 78% average or its equivalent for undergraduate work.
  • A four-year Honours Bachelor degree with a specialization in Mathematics, or in Science or Engineering with a strong concentration in mathematics.
  • Students who have a strong academic record but who have some gaps in their Applied Mathematics background may be admitted subject to the requirement that they complete a selection of fourth year undergraduate courses as part of their graduate program.
  • Three references, normally from academic sources

Effective May 1, 2012, Waterloo’s guideline for minimum funding for incoming full-time master’s students in the first year of a non-co-op Master of Arts (MA), Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Environmental Studies (MES), Master of Applied Science (MASc), Master of Mathematics (MMATH) (except coursework programs), or Master of Science (MSc) (except coursework programs) is $12,000.

This commitment applies to the first year of full-time enrolment for students in good academic standing. At Waterloo, graduate students may be able to receive funding from various sources such as Teaching Assistantships (TA), Research Assistantships (RA), Graduate Research Studentships (GRS), internal awards, external awards, bursaries and emergency loans.
