Detailed Information of BSc/BA in Statistics in Canada at Dalhousie University

Program Overview for BSc/BA in Statistics in Canada:

Statistics is the science of structuring, explaining and processing data into something understandable. It doesn’t matter if you want to design computer games, study the safety of nuclear power plants or conduct political polls; scientists of all kinds work with numbers to measure and explore the world.

Careers and future study:

You can apply to receive the title of Associate Statistician (A.Stat.), a designation that is required for most entry-level positions. With a BSc in Statistics, you can find a position in any number of exciting industries such as:

  • manufacturing
  • public health
  • marketing
  • statistical computing
  • science writing and journalism

If you’ve completed an honors degree in statistics, a Master of Science (MSc) in statistics is a natural next step. It offers you the ability to focus and undertake a serious research project on your own. You may also choose to complete an MSc in an interdisciplinary field (such as finance, bioinformatics or environmental science) and eventually a Ph.D.
