Detailed Information of BA/BSc in Mathematics in Canada at University of Fraser Valley

Program Overview for BA/BSc in Mathematics in Canada:

UFV's mathematics and statistics courses provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the key areas of modern mathematics and statistics; opportunities to use current professional math software in the industry, business, and academia; and attractive jobs or higher education qualifications.

Use math as part of your title to show potential employers that you are able to think analytically (that is, you can solve problems), think abstract (you can go beyond what you see), and think logically. In fact, the demand for math teachers is so great that almost all qualified math teachers are accepted. As for statistics, it is a very valuable addition to your title, because statistics are used in various fields, especially in business and research.

UFV's math and statistics teachers are ready to help you achieve your goals, whether you just need a math course or want a full math degree. We represent many special fields, but we are united and committed to providing excellent student-oriented guidance and support.

We also provide undergraduate research opportunities, including work-study (paid) research!

Career Expectations:

A 20-year study by Statistics Canada shows that people who study math earn as much as business administration or health science graduates, and they are not far behind the highest paid engineering science graduates.

Adding a math part to your title shows potential employers that you are capable of analytical, abstract, and logical thinking with depth and clarity. These attractive qualities can open the door to satisfying careers in various fields, including:

  • Education
  • Actuarial Science
  • Computer Science
  • Business
  • Engineering
  • High Tech
  • Cryptography
  • Finance

Many employers do not have in-house math or statistics Professional knowledge to develop your business. Therefore, mathematical skills are highly valued in various fields such as manufacturing, mining and petroleum, public administration, and professional, scientific, and technical services.
