Program Overview for Corporate Residency MBA in Canada:

Your career begins just six months into the program. By the time you enter your residency, you will have been coached and rigorously prepared for this deep immersion into the business world. Over eight months you will accomplish and learn more than is possible in any traditional four-month co-op because a Dal Corporate Residency isn’t just another summer job, it's a glimpse into your career.

As one employer aptly said, “in four months you are considered a co-op student. In eight months we treat you like an employee with all the responsibility that goes with it.” You will be paid a salary that helps offset tuition fees. You’ll come back to the classroom for your second year with solid business experience, ready to leverage what you’ve learned during your residency.

The eligibility for Corporate Residency MBA in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree, in any discipline, recognized by Dalhousie
• A Grade Point Average of B (or 3.0) or better in the final two years (20 credits)
• GMAT score of 550 or better (we may also consider GRE, MCAT, DAT and LSAT). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Dalhousie has waived the standardized test requirement for the 2020–2021 admissions cycle only. If you are planning to apply for the June 2022 cohort you will need to submit a standardized test score.

2. Letter of intent: The personal statement or letter of intent is a standard component of most graduate and professional school applications. The letter of intent offers applicants an opportunity to express their value proposition. It is one of the criteria the selection committee uses to decide whether you are an acceptable candidate for the program. Consider the following in preparing your letter of intent:
   • Start with a thought-provoking opening that will draw the reader into your letter of intent.
   • What personal characteristics, attributes or values do you have that may enhance your chances for success?
   • What are your career aspirations?
   • Make this an honest portrayal of who you are.
   • Edit your document (especially for typos).
   • Limit your letter of intent to 500 words.
   • Include your typewritten letter of intent with your application package.

6. Academic letters of reference: Two academic letters of reference are required. (If you graduated five or more years ago and have been working full-time, you may supply one professional and one academic letter of reference.) Letter of financial guarantee (for non-Canadian students): The letter may indicate that an individual or organization is accepting financial responsibility for tuition and living expenses or fully sponsoring a student during the full course of his or her studies. Scanned copies of certificates of deposit are also acceptable.
