Program Overview for Master of Science in Management in Canada:

The Master of Science in Management (MSc (Mgt)) degree meets the growing demand for graduate management education. Unlike traditional MBAs that provide functional knowledge and skills education, our master's program (Mgt) focuses on cultivating research capabilities in professional fields such as accounting, finance, human resources and labor relations, international management, marketing, and policy and strategy.

The MSc (Mgt) program attracts students who are interested in research. This program is designed for students with a bachelor's degree in management, business, or commerce. No previous work experience is required to join the program.

This research-intensive course provides students with the knowledge and practical experience to conduct rigorous academic research of a business or administrative matters within their specialties. The Master of Science (Mgt) program will cultivate academics who have a deep understanding of the discipline's research trajectory, become proficient in the research process, and contribute knowledge to management academics.

Our graduates are ready to enter and succeed in high-quality doctoral programs or pursue careers that value research skills and academic knowledge. Applicants are strongly encouraged to choose a specialization in which they offer a wide range of completed courses, which will allow them to conduct high-level research in that discipline/specialization.

The plan is divided into four modules and the delivery period is two years. The first module (fall semester) provides a two-day orientation for students entering the program. Orientation activities include campus and architectural tours, information technology environments, meetings with faculty and potential supervisors, and seminars/conferences to help kick off the Master's (Mgt) program.

During the second module (fall semester), students begin to integrate research methods and theories related to various management fields. In the third module (spring semester), students focus on their areas of interest and begin to develop their research plans in greater depth. In the fourth and final module, students present their Master's thesis proposal and then carry out and defend their Master's thesis work in an oral exam.
