Program Overview for Bachelor in Visual & Critical Studies in Canada:

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Visual and Critical Studies offers students the opportunity to pursue the academic study of art history in the creative and dynamic environment of Canada’s premier art and design university.

Study art history where you can study art and design at Canada's largest college of art and design. Our courses are unique because you can also take studio courses and make art and design yourself. 

The project emphasizes the expansion of the history of modern and contemporary art, including design, photography, architecture, performance, and new media, as well as painting and sculpture.

The eligibility for Bachelor in Visual & Critical Studies in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

For Ontario high school students, a minimum overall average of 70%; Portfolio (samples of your work and a visual representation of who you are); Statement of Intent; Official transcripts;

For international students, Secondary School Graduation is equivalent to Grade 12 in Ontario with an overall average of B or 70% numeric equivalent in the final year and If you are applying from a country or school system with English as the official language of instruction, a minimum grade of B or 70% numeric equivalent in English 12 or equivalent course is required.

You also need

  • Statement of Intent (required for all programs) and Portfolio (required for all studio BFA, BDes programs) or Writing sample (required for the BA in Visual and Critical Studies)
  • Official transcripts
  • English Language Proficiency Test results (if required)
