Program Overview for Bachelor in Indigenous Visual Culture in Canada:

The INVC program honours the creative traditions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit art and design practices. You will deepen your understanding of the visual, cultural, social, and political histories of Indigenous peoples.

You will also explore your own art and design through a supportive studio-based learning environment. You will take electives in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, digital media and more.

INVC students are leaders. They are open to taking risks, experimentation, decolonizing, and are motivated by contributing to their home communities. INVC students are interested in social justice and honoring family, community, culture and nation.

The eligibility for Bachelor in Indigenous Visual Culture in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

For Ontario high school students, a minimum overall average of 70%; Portfolio (samples of your work and a visual representation of who you are); Statement of Intent; Official transcripts;

Secondary School Graduation equivalent to Grade 12 in Ontario with an overall average of B or 70% numeric equivalent in the final year and If you are applying from a country or school system with English as the official language of instruction, a minimum grade of B or 70% numeric equivalent in English 12 or equivalent course is required. 

You also need

  • Statement of Intent (required for all programs) and Portfolio (required for all studio BFA, BDes programs) or Writing sample (required for the BA in Visual and Critical Studies)
  • Official transcripts
  • English Language Proficiency Test results (if required)
