Jim Ovia Scholars Program in Nigeria: Fully funded
The Jim Ovia Scholars Program was established in 1998 and is fully funded by Mr. Jim Ovia to provide financial assistance to outstanding young Nigerians. This scholarship was previously known as the Muste scholarship. Eligible winners receive support for undergraduate and graduate study during their course, including tuition and living allowance.
The program offers an average of 100 opportunities for new applicants each year and supports renewal applicants each year, provided all scholarship eligibility requirements are met. Since October 2010, Mr. Ovia has invested more than 100 million naira in the program to support 1,500 beneficiaries, and it is still increasing.
By establishing the Jim Ovia Fellowship, Mr. Ovia hopes to establish a network of future leaders in Nigeria, who can compete with their peers on a global scale, bring new ideas and creativity, and are committed to improving the lives and environment of the people in their respective regions. This scholarship is open to all prospective Nigerian citizen students. Each year, one hundred (100) winners are selected from eligible applicants. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of individual intelligence, leadership ability, and desire to contribute to society as a whole to improve the lives of others.
