SURETY & FIDELITY INDUSTRY INTERN AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM in USA: The Surety and Fidelity Industry Intern and Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding underrepresented students to support their studies in the areas of insurance/risk management, accounting, economics, or business/finance and to encourage their consideration of the surety industry and surety/fidelity underwriting as a career choice. This program is administered by The Surety Foundation, the educational arm of The Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA).

Are you one of the few students studying insurance/risk management, accounting, economics, or business/finance and seeking internship opportunities at industry-leading insurance companies? Are you interested in receiving a scholarship of US$5,000? If so, the Assurance Foundation, an educational institution of the Guarantee and Fidelity Association of America (SFAA), may give you a chance! 

We are looking for the best and brightest college students from all over the country to participate in bail and loyalty scholarship and internship programs. This program gives students the opportunity to collaborate with industry experts through paid professional internships offered by our member organizations.

The plan also encourages prospective graduates to make the guarantee and fidelity industries their preferred careers. Upon successful completion of the internship program, academic scholarships of up to 5,000 US dollars will be awarded. Past contestants include Travelers, Liberty Mutual, The Hartford, Merchants, Nationwide, Chubb, Great American, CNA, etc. The location varies across the United States.

Application Criteria for SURETY & FIDELITY INDUSTRY INTERN AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM in USA


  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Underrepresented student* who has completed at least their sophomore year, including at least six semester hours (or equivalent) in your major field
  • Ideally, a declared business, finance, economics, accounting or insurance/risk management major
  • Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Enrollment in an accredited institution as a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours or equivalent) and commitment to participating in a six-week (minimum) paid internship with a company in the surety/fidelity industry during the summer following notification of selection and prior to disbursement of scholarship funds
  • Successful completion of paid internship is required
