Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, Vegetarian Resources Group annually awards $20,000 in college scholarships to U.S. high school graduates who promote vegetarianism in schools and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish or poultry. A vegetarian is a vegetarian who does not consume other animal products (such as dairy products or eggs).

The first prize is US$10,000 and the second prize is US$5,000. Applicants will be judged for showing compassion, courage and a firm commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian/lifestyle. Payment will be made to the student's university (US only).
