Political Science Major:

In the first and second years, you will learn basic skills in the history and theory of political science, statistical analysis, and research methods. In the third and fourth years, you will improve your knowledge by studying related topics and issues such as international relations, human rights, and public policies.
The political science major requires the completion of 1819 low-level credits and 30 high-level credits. If you are interested in research, you can apply for an independent study program in political science to obtain a degree.
Career Expectations:
A political science degree can lead to a career in a political party or government organization. You can also work as a journalist, policy advisor, public administrator, or campaign manager. Or you can work in areas such as international relations, advocacy, education, or labor relations. The degree in Political Science provides you with critical thinking, communication, and statistical analysis skills to help you succeed in the legal or business fields. In fact, many graduates continue to study to obtain a law degree.
WorkBC predicts that the demand for professional social scientists working in large private sector organizations in government relations, research, or policy analysis will increase. This growth is expected to occur as existing workers retire and create new jobs.
