Our doctoral program develops its skills even for independent ideas and creative research. You will receive supervisor tutoring from your field of research. Work to generate an article with your supervisor. Explore and studies advanced philosophy issues. With the permission of the department, you can explore classes outside the philosophy sector to obtain more interdisciplinary views of your specialized field.

Admission to the Ph.D. program in philosophy is restricted to students who hold an MA in philosophy or an equivalent degree. University regulations permit up-and-coming MA candidates to move directly into a doctoral program. For further information, visit the Department of Philosophy website.

To be fully considered for admission and funding, all applicants are asked to apply by February 1.
In addition to the application materials required by Graduate Admissions, you must also provide a short sample of your written work (about 10 pages) and a brief statement of your anticipated area of study. The statement should indicate how your research interests fit with the research and teaching expertise of members of the philosophy faculty.
