Program Overview for Mathematics & Education (MSc) in Netherlands:

The two-year master's programme Mathematics has two components:

  • an analysis-oriented component with topics such as dynamical systems,
  • differential equations,
  • probability theory and stochastics,
  • percolation and mathematics in the life sciences, 
  • an algebra/geometry-oriented component 

The goal of each programme is to train the student as an independent researcher, and to develop the necessary skills and proficiency to advance your career.

If you have abachelor's degree in Mathematics or in a Mathematics-related programme from a foreign research university with a level similar to Dutch universities, you are eligible to apply under the condition that you have accumulated the mathematical background at least equivalent to a Dutchbachelor's degree in Mathematics. The Board of Admissions will assess whether your degree and background are sufficiently related to the level and content of the Dutch BSc degree in Mathematics. You are eligible to apply if you have

  1. A BSc degree in Mathematics (Wiskunde) from any research university in the Netherlands. OR Abachelor's degree in a Mathematics-related programme from a research university in the Netherlands, under the condition that you have accumulated the mathematical background at least equivalent to abachelor's degree in Mathematics.
  2. The Board of Admissions will assess whether your degree and background are sufficiently related to the BSc degree in Mathematics.
