These are the international student eligibility for the African Studies (MA) in Netherlands

The Faculty Board may, on request, grant admission to applicants who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Faculty Board that they possess a level of knowledge, understanding and skills equal to that of holders of a bachelor’s degree from a Dutch research university in African Languages and Cultures or International Studies with the area specialisation Africa; You should meet the following requirements: the bachelor’s degree is in the field of humanities or social sciences, your prior education must include the following subjects: language, literature, cultures, history, economics and/or social sciences, related to Africa with at least the following study load: 30 EC.

These are the domestic student eligibility for the African Studies (MA)

A bachelor’s degree from a Dutch research university in African Languages and Cultures;
  1. A bachelor’s degree from a Dutch research university in the relevant programme International Studies with the area specialisation Africa; Completed the pre-master's / bridging programme. Please contact the Coordinator of Studies for more information about the pre-master’s/bridging programme.
  2. If you have a degree in Dutch higher vocational education (hbo) in a Computer Science or Bioinformatics-related field of science, you are eligible to apply under the condition that you have obtained the diploma within a maximum of five years and an average final grade of at least 7.5.
The Board of Admissions will assess whether your degree and background are sufficiently related to the level and content of the Dutch BSc degree in Computer Science and whether you meet the additional requirements. You may be eligible for an individual bridging programme tailored to your individual background. Eventual deficiencies up to 30 EC can be removed upon discussion with the study advisor using a bridging programme. If you have successfully met the requirements of the imposed bridging programme, you will be admitted to the master’s programme.
