You are certainly eligible to apply if you have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. However if you have a bachelor’s degree in another relevant discipline, such as, Culture studies, Political Studies, or Liberal Arts and Sciences and Global Management of Social Issues, Administration studies, Political studies, Economics, Law, European studies, Communication Sciences, Human Resource Management, Psychology and Social Sciences you are also most welcome to apply, but most likely then a Pre-master will be required.You also need :
  1. Motivation Letter
  2. CV
  3. A copy of your Bachelor's or Master's thesis or an essay completed during your studies (only in English and at least 1500 words; if you have not yet written a thesis, you could also upload a dedicated writing sample in form of an academic essay or research proposal)
  4. Nuffic certificate (for Chinese students only).

These are the domestic student eligibility for the Philosophy of Humanity and Culture

A Dutch academic Bachelor's degree.
In that case, the Admissions Committee of the study program will determine whether this Bachelor's degree is sufficiently in line with the Master's track Philosophy of Humanity and Culture. In general, the following applies:
  1. With a bachelor Philosophy from a Dutch university: directly admissible to the master.
  2. With a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from a foreign university: directly admissible to the master's degree if the Admissions Committee decides that the study program is equivalent to a Dutch bachelor's degree in Philosophy.
  3. With a university bachelor other than the bachelor Philosophy: not directly admissible to the master, but often admissible to the premaster. Relevant disciplines increase the chance of following the pre-master's. After you have completed the premaster, you will be directly admitted to the master track Philosophy of Humanity and Culture.
HBO Students
The Admissions Committee of the study program determines whether it is sufficiently relevant to be admitted to the premaster Philosophy of Humanity and Culture.
  1. After you have completed the premaster, you will be directly admitted to the master track Philosophy of Humanity and Culture.
  2. You can only be admitted to the premaster with an officially recognized four-year HBO program (240 ECTS). Two-year HBO programs do not provide access. Work experience and courses cannot supplement or compensate.
