By 2020, the British Council predicts that more than 2 billion people will speak or learn English. As English has become the universal language of the world, the demand for English teachers continues to grow. St. Mary’s IMTE course prepares graduates for an international career in teaching English as an additional language. IMTE provides you with a master's degree in English as an international language teacher and prepares various Cambridge Assessment English certificates, part of the world-renowned Cambridge University in the UK.
There is a growing need for non-native English speakers worldwide to prepare for the profession of teaching English as an additional language. IMTE is a course based on professional courses to prepare for a career in teaching English abroad. Course assignments are balanced with a significant proportion of classroom experience. This title is mainly for international students who plan to teach English abroad.
This plan combines the basic concepts of foreign language teaching with the practical dimension of English teaching and learning through experience. IMTE is designed to be completed in four semesters or sixteen months.
