Dairy producers, scientists, students, educators, technical consultants, marketers, and others who share a desire to preserve our dairy heritage and keep the dairy sector strong come together at the National Dairy Shrine. National Dairy Shrine was founded in 1949 by a small group of visionary dairy executives and currently boasts approximately 20,000 lifetime members representing virtually every aspect of the dairy industry.
Today's dairy leaders are in classrooms, dairy youth organizations, dairy contests, and on dairy farms all around the country. The mission of the National Dairy Shrine is to encourage, stimulate, and inspire them.
National Dairy Shrine has recognized the importance of creating a foundation for the future from its beginning, and has continued to extend its young programs to capture and challenge the interest of outstanding dairy youth. Dairy kids, our future leaders, are entitled to apply for college scholarships and recognition prizes from the National Dairy Shrine, with grants totaling over $40,000 available each year.
All National Dairy Shrine scholarships and student prizes are solely available to U.S. students who are majoring in dairy or other agricultural-related disciplines and attending schools, colleges, or institutions in the United States.
Students from Canadian universities can apply for the Klussendorf / McKown scholarships, which are sponsored by the Klussendorf Association.
