Venkat is a well-loved and respected engineer, and his career has led him to enter famous companies such as YouTube, Google, and Yahoo. Unfortunately, after battling cancer, he passed away prematurely. In his short time, he deeply moved the hearts of his friends, family and colleagues. He taught us to be generous, humble, always optimistic, and always find the best in people.
You are an always optimistic person. Do you believe that we can make the world more sustainable? Are you passionate about computer science and engineering? Are you already using computing to develop solutions for some of the challenges or opportunities you see?
If yes, we invite you to apply for the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship. The selected students will receive $750 in tuition and education funding, and will be invited to visit the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California. Selected students will also have the opportunity to submit proposals and may receive up to $225 to develop IT in the local community.

We are specifically looking for university students who:
- Aspire to be computer scientists and technology leaders
- Exemplify leadership skills and a demonstrated passion for computer science and technology
- Assist those around them to excel in the field of computer science and technology
- Help their friends and family members use computer science and technology
- Leverage the field of computer science to transform systems (from building the next game changing technology, to even helping families be happy, etc.)
- Have faced adversity and overcome it to continue learning and growing in the field of computer science

- Submit two essays
- Submit a video
- Submit two letter of recommendation
Application Process for Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship in USA
1. Submit an article (up to 300 words) and tell us the following:
- How do you plan to use computing to make the world a more sustainable place?
- If you receive this scholarship, how will you use it to increase your enthusiasm and the objectives of the scholarship?
2. Submit an article (up to 250 words) and tell us the following:
- What adversity have you encountered and how has it affected your career? Explain the steps you have taken to overcome it.
3. Submit a video (up to 1 minute): To tell us why you want to get this scholarship. Upload it to YouTube and share the link in the app.
4. Submit your resume: Be sure to include your background in the computer science field, as well as your leadership experience and the impact you have created.
5. Send two letters of recommendation: They can come from teachers or supervisors (internships, part-time jobs, full-time jobs) at your workplace.
Currently in:
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree currently studying at a university / university in India, studying this academic year
- Currently studying for a degree in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related technical field
Note: Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship only . Although previous applicants are encouraged to reapply, previous recipients of Google Scholarships (including Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship) are unfortunately not eligible to apply.

Terms and Conditions:
- Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the overall robustness of their essays and application materials compared to the entire pool of applicants.
- The selection will be complete and final, and applicants will confirm that they will not raise objections at any time. The Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship of US $ 4,444,750 must be used to pay for the tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment that the student needs to attend classes at their elementary school. 4,444 fellows can also receive a $ 225 grant after submitting a proposal for local community development in the field of informatics.
- The tax obligation (if any) related to the scholarship must be assumed by the beneficiary of the scholarship. The
- Scholarship recipients in the 20182019 and 20192020 academic years must register as full-time students. After receiving the award, admission will be confirmed. All scholarships will be paid directly to students for tuition and education-related expenses.
- For scholars who no longer meet the eligibility requirements, we will retain the award, and for any scholar who does not meet the eligibility requirements, we will cancel the award.
- Any employee of Google Inc., including its affiliates and subsidiaries, is not allowed to apply for Google Scholarships.
- (1) Residents of embargoed countries, (2) who habitually reside in embargoed countries, or (3) individuals who are prohibited by applicable export control and sanctions programs cannot apply for this scholarship.
