Before applying:

  • Carefully study the website of your chosen college program for specific details of eligibility criteria, requirements, deadlines, and other application instructions.
  • Select the institution and course you want to apply to. Although there is no limit to the number of schools you can apply to, it should be noted that completing an application packet takes a lot of effort.
  • Prepare the necessary documents for presentation. Each institution requires different types of documents as part of the application process. Failure to submit documents on time will result in an incomplete application.
  • If applicable, perform required tests a few months prior to application start. Before being considered for admission to the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program, each applicant must meet the college's admission requirements. For some partners, tests such as SAT and / or TOEFL or IELTS are part of the standard requirements for all international students. Other university partners do not need to complete them.
  • Request for reference. Most universities require letters of recommendation. Before applying, ask someone who is familiar with you (such as your teacher, mentor, or community leader) to support you in this step. Some universities will require recommendation letters to be submitted online. In this case, it is the applicant's responsibility to follow up with their recommender regarding the online submission.

When applying:

  • Follow the application instructions for college courses. Some partners only accept online applications; others require paper applications.
  • Pay attention to the deadline and avoid waiting until the last day to apply. Please check your application package to make sure you have submitted all the required documents. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered for the scholarship program.
