Girls Impact the World Scholarship Awards Scholarships in USA: Up to $5000. There are many awards available on multiple categories.
ConnectHER’s mission is to truly represent the voices and stories of women and girls around the world. With the help of Harvard students Kerry Hammond, Ara Parikh and Kara Kubarych, it launched its annual film festival in 2012.
Through the ConnectHER Film Festival, high school and college students submit original short films focusing on key female issues such as girls’ education, ending violence against women, poverty and economic independence, and true beauty/body image.
We are very happy that the Film Festival has transformed students into filmmakers and filmmakers into activists. In order to further promote youth activism, Connecther launched the Global Chapter of ConnectHER Film Festival in 2016. Now, from Nepal to New York, students gather to watch movies, support each other, and create social change together.
Students enrolled in high school or undergraduate programs are qualified to enter. If chosen as a finalist, filmmakers must provide proof of enrollment at their school/university. (Special circumstances may be considered for youth who are not in school.) Filmmakers must be 25 years old or under by the submission date of June 15.
