This paid internship program provides you with meaningful work experience and unique opportunities to plan your career path. The FAA has offices throughout the country, including its headquarters in Washington, DC, and employs a wide range of technical, industrial and commercial professionals.

The MSI Internship Program is open to all eligible undergraduate and graduate students from diverse cultural backgrounds and diverse academic fields. An important focus of the program is to provide opportunities for eligible students from underrepresented groups in the fields of aviation, aviation and STEM, such as: African Americans, Asian Americans and other Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Native Americans, Native Hawaiians or other Pacific countries . Application Criteria for The Foreign Affairs IT Fellowship  in USA


To be eligible for FAA Minority Serving Institutions Intern Program in USA, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be able to work a full-time schedule (~40 hours a week) or part-time (20 hours minimum) for the duration of the program.
  • Be a currently enrolled as a full-time graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university, with a graduation date after the internship ends.
  • Must be of sophomore status or above, having completed 42 semester credit hours (or the equivalent in quarter hours) by the start of the internship.
  • Have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have a confirmed interest in FAA and the scope of work presented in the internship job description.

Preferred majors include:

  • Aviation (Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, Aeronautical Engineering)

  • Communications (Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media)
  • Computer Science/Computer Information Systems
