The Print and Graphics Scholarship in USA: Scholarship awards vary in amount from $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year, in most cases, for up to four years. The Scholarship Selection Committee of PGSF will determine the amount of each scholarship.

The Printing and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) is a private, industry-led nonprofit organization that provides technical assistance with scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to men and women interested in careers in the field of graphic communications. The 

PGSF has two main tasks. First, attract young people into the industry and let them (and their parents, school counselors, etc.) understand the various career opportunities available.

Second, if they are receiving higher education to enter the field, we will provide financial assistance. The foundation and its donors and sponsors are working hard to cultivate the future workforce in the graphic communications industry.

Application Criteria for The Print and Graphics Scholarship in USA


For your application to be considered and presented to the selection committee…

  • Your application must be completed and submitted by May 1.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation are required and must be submitted by May 1. (Please give your referral enough time to submit before the application site closes).
  • Your official transcripts or a copy of your official transcripts must be uploaded with your application by May 1.
  • You must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
  • A full-time status. (Full-time status defined as someone who is registered in 12 or more credits per term)
  • A student who is enrolled in a printing or graphic program at a technical school, college or university within the United States.
  • Student must be pursuing a career in printing technology, printing management, or graphic communication.
  • If you are a current scholarship recipient there is NO need to reapply.

Finalist selection:

The PGSF Scholarship Selection Committee is composed of university educators and industry leaders who are experienced in interpreting test scores, school records, and other relevant information. The confidential documents of each candidate entering the semi-finals are carefully reviewed.

Scholarship candidates are evaluated based on their academic performance; suggestions provided by trainers, consultants and employers; biographical records showing academic honors; extracurricular interests, etc. 

Winner Announcement:

Scholarship winners will be notified by letter. When the winner returns the form confirming registration at the approved university and the student's signature to confirm acceptance of the scholarship, each scholarship will become an official award.

Failure by the student to return the signed admission letter will result in the loss of the scholarship. 

Prize value:

Scholarship amounts range from US $ 1,000 to US $ 5,000 per academic year and, in most cases, up to four years. The PGSF Scholarship Selection Committee will determine the amount of each scholarship.

The amount of the scholarship is not disclosed. The award will be paid in a single sum to the Financial Aid Office of the University on behalf of the student. The university will be authorized to use the grant to pay for tuition and other expenses.

Scholarship Update:

Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four years of postsecondary education (unless otherwise noted), provided the recipient maintains a high academic average and continues to participate in an approved program of study.

The student's record is reviewed at the end of each grading period and, if satisfied, the award will carry over to the next year. Students must maintain an average level of "B" (3.0).

If the student's performance is less than this average, the student will be detained for probation and funds will be held until performance improves. If a student does not improve their grades in the same academic year, the student will lose the scholarship and must reapply. 

Postgraduate Scholarships:

Some scholarships (postgraduate study) are for university graduates who wish to obtain advanced training in certain professional fields related to the graphics/printing communications industry. The application deadline for the scholarship program is May 1st.

Long-term illness: 

Severe long-term illness or injury that will delay your college career will be considered as a reason to retain the award. The time limit and other restrictions will be set by the Printing and Graphics Scholarship Foundation. Other license applications will be considered separately.
