The foundation uses SME's 90-year history and thought leadership in the manufacturing and engineering industries to bring planning expertise to thousands of high school students at SME conferences and trade shows, and establish hands-on manufacturing programs in high schools across the United States. the whole country. Foundation also provides millions of dollars in scholarships to high school graduates and college students and graduates each year. Through its SME PRIME program, the foundation has served more than 100,000 students in more than 60 schools in 22 states.

All Foundation activities are designed to enable young people to pursue careers in manufacturing and engineering. The SME Education Foundation provides millions of dollars in scholarships every year to high school graduates, college students, and graduates studying manufacturing or engineering for two, four or four years or advanced degrees.

Application Criteria for SME Education Foundation Scholarship in USA


High School Students:

High school students seeking college scholarships can apply for more than 30 scholarships from the SME Education Foundation. If you plan to get into manufacturing, you've come to the right place! Let us help you fund your education so you can focus on learning.

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States or Canada.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be on a path toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, technology, or closely related field at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.

Undergraduate Students:

Are you already studying at the University or at the University? We have special scholarships for you. We help your way to the manufacturing race. After our application ends on February 1, we will give you our scholarship. You can get the opportunity to update the scholarship on January 1.

Graduate Students:

Although graduate students generally rely on scholarships, the SME Education Foundation is proud to provide scholarships to manufacturing students seeking advanced degrees. Students participating in advanced manufacturing education need to spend time learning - our scholarships help reduce their financial burden while allowing students to focus on their education.

  • Must be on a path toward a graduate degree in manufacturing engineering, technology, or closely related field at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
