The program is open to residents in Surgery at the University of Manitoba currently enrolled in a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) specialty training program.

The Surgery program provides surgical residents a year free of clinical duties to complete the required course hours.

Most of the work involves independent and group study using a clinical problem-based approach, supported by a systems-based review of the course material which allows you to choose between two learning styles; problem-solving or systematic where specified learning objectives are followed.
