Program Overview for PhD in Religion in Canada:
This is a Joint Program in cooperation with the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Winnipeg. Students in the JMP may elect to receive their degree from either of the two participating universities. They may pursue their degree via the thesis route, or the Course and Comprehensive route. The Ph.D. option consists of coursework and a substantial research component.

Thesis-based M.A. in Religion (with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5) or its equivalent; Statement of Intent; Publication/Writing Sample; Letters of Recommendation: 2
Please Note that:(Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B or equivalent) in the last two previous years of full time study (60 credit hours) is the minimum requirement for admission to the PhD program. With special recommendation of the department, exceptional applicants with an honours bachelor’s degree may be considered for entry to PhD study)
