The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree program provides students with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in the arts, new media, and theater arts. Each master's program combines subject-related research, theory, and practice. Teachers composed of artists and scholars create an environment that actively participates in investigating materials and concepts in production and performance. MFA allows graduate students to focus on the subject of their choice and integrate their research into a thesis.
Lethbridge is home to many art groups and contemporary art galleries, including Lethbridge University Art Gallery, House, Trianon Gallery, Living Room, and the nationally renowned South Alberta Art Gallery. Graduate students can use various exhibition venues, including the Penny Building at the University of Lethbridge, which provides a strong image of the city center.
The Drama Department's activities are supported by its excellent theater facilities, shops, and studios. The Academy of Fine Arts produced a strong production season on the main stage, a production season in the student production studio, and many other theatrical activities.
The University of Lethbridge is committed to the creation, research and discovery. Values and supports research, scholarships, and creative work and encourages students of all skill levels.
