Program Overview for NEUROSCIENCE (PHD) in Canada:

Our department's research topics are diverse, including animal social behavior, learning and memory, decision-making, addiction, developmental plasticity (including brain injury, stress, and the effects of drugs on brain development), neuronal coding, motor control, and comparative neuroanatomy. Comparative analysis of behavior, attention, and robotics.

The doctoral degree requirements plan includes successful course completion, comprehensive exams, thesis, and thesis defense. Students negotiate with their tutors to develop their curriculum.

The eligibility for NEUROSCIENCE (PHD) in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

  • Hold a master's degree from a recognized degree-granting institution in the discipline of interest or in a related discipline
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, on a 4.00 scale on all graded master's-level courses OR calculated on the most recently completed PhD if the applicant is applying for another PhD in a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of scholarly competence
  • Demonstrate English Language Proficiency (ELP) for graduate student
  • Secure a potential supervisor
