Detailed Information of Msc in Mechanical Engineering in Canada at University of Saskatchewan

Program Overview for Msc in Mechanical Engineering in Canada:

The department offers Master of Science (M.Sc.), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree programs, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) program. In the M.Sc. and PhD programs, graduate students complete course work and a project, while PGD students complete course work only.

Faculty members pursue research in six broad areas of mechanical engineering:

  • advanced engineering design and manufacturing
  • applied mechanics and machine design
  • bioengineering
  • control systems, robotics and fluid power
  • fluid dynamics, thermal sciences and energy
  • materials science and metallurgy

These are the international student eligibility for the Msc in Mechanical Engineering in Canada

  • A cumulative weighted average of at least a 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units)
  • a four-year honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study

We recommend that you contact the faculty that are doing research in an area that interests you before beginning a formal application.M.Sc. and PhD students are eligible for financial support in the form of research assistantships or fellowships, as well as teaching assistantships. The department and university also offer a number of graduate student scholarships. Students do not apply directly for these scholarships, but are nominated by their prospective supervisor. M.Eng. and PGD students are not eligible for financial support.

In addition to potential funding from your department, there are scholarships and awards available to all eligible students. There are also special programs for international students from China and Mexico.

Applications to this academic unit require a pre-qualification form to be submitted prior to the formal online application. The pre-qualification form will be reviewed by department faculty. If resources allow, the applicant will then be invited to apply formally online. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
