By earning a bachelor's degree in psychology for minors, extended minors, or honors, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others. As a scientific study of people's thoughts, behaviors, and motivations, psychology involves almost every aspect of our lives. In fact, this field of research is playing an increasingly important role in understanding and solving social and personal problems. 

Psychology has developed into a profession and a science. His findings apply not only to clinical psychology and consulting but also to related fields such as human resources, marketing, management, and social services. 

In the first and second years, you will be introduced to some of the main research areas in psychology, including motivation, psychological disorders, neuropsychology, etc. Understand the research methods used in psychology and apply them yourself when conducting your own psychological research. High School Applicants, please provide a copy of:

• Your high school transcript(s) and proof of graduation if you have graduated from high school, or a copy of your interim high school transcript(s) if you are currently in high school.
• If you are currently studying in a high school outside of Canada, you will be required to provide your final high school transcript and proof of graduation in August, or at the latest, before fall classes begin.
• If you are currently studying in a BC high school or BC high school offshore, please provide your Personal Education Number (PEN) in your application. UFV can download your interim and final transcripts if you have provided permission to release your grades to UFV for one year at the Ministry of Education website.  The deadline to receive your final high transcript and proof of graduation is August 3.

Post-Secondary Applicants, please provide a copy of:

• Your high school transcript(s).
• Your post-secondary transcript(s) from all institutions attended. Please note that evaluation of previous post-secondary credit is a requirement for admission to some programs. If your official post-secondary transcript(s) is required, a document evaluation fee will be charged to your student account.

Option 1: University entrance (for students who have attended some post-secondary school)

1. Applicants must meet the Degree/diploma level English language proficiency requirement. See the English language proficiency requirement section of the calendar for details on how this requirement may be met.

2. One of the following:

   • Completion of a minimum of nine credits in courses numbered at the 100 level and above, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.67 (B- average) on all credits attempted;

   • Completion of a minimum of 30 credits in courses numbered at the 100 level and above, with a CGPA of 2.00 (C average) on all credits attempted; or

   • Completion of the Workplace Education associate certificate.

Option 2: Departmental discretionary admission

The Adult Education department will also consider applications from working professionals with at least three years of significant and relevant Adult Education or related experience, even though they may not possess the required GPA, course grades, or course currency necessary for entry into the degree program. The department will exercise its discretion in such cases and, where warranted, accept students on a conditional basis.

Students accepted to the program under this applicant category will be required by the department to support their application by submitting a résumé and/or letters of reference to the program advisor, as determined by the department.

• Official transcripts (or interim transcripts) from all post-secondary institutions attended showing grade/course achievement as per program entrance requirements. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly to UFV from the originating institution.
