UFV's four-year Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) is a full-time program that provides you with the skills to use economic and environmental principles to shape business, industrial, and government practices.
BES establishes links between environmental research, art, natural sciences, and communication as a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program. The plan also incorporates regional priorities when addressing the environmental needs of the Fraser Valley, including agriculture and food security, climate change, land use planning / geographic information systems, and environmental communications.
The Bachelor of Environmental Studies is based on the main core courses that allow you to solve human-environmental relations, scarcity and resource allocation, innovation, problem-solving environmental research, and exchanging ideas and results.
The course uses lectures, seminars, face-to-face experiences, and classroom technical support delivered in a face-to-face format. In addition, you can choose an internship or cooperative job position to meet one of the job requirements. If you decide to combine the four-year BES with the cooperative education option, you must spend three additional semesters to complete your degree.
After graduation, you will be ready to work as an environmental professional in Canada or abroad. Or, you can choose to study for graduate school or other majors. If you plan to work in the field of environmental sciences and seek additional professional certification after graduation, you can consider a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Natural Science).
