A graduate degree in computer science will give you a competitive edge in your professional skills. These problem-solving skills and techniques will help you push the limits of computing.
Our IT department is recognized as one of the best departments in Canada. Our faculty and staff have had a major impact on research in key areas such as data visualization, machine learning, security, privacy, and embedded systems.
As the field of data science continues to experience tremendous growth, the industry's demand for trained professionals who can solve complex data-related problems is also increasing. At the University of Victoria, our Master of Engineering in Applied Data Science (MADS) program prepares motivated students and IT professionals to work at the forefront of global enterprise data-driven transformation.
This one-year intensive academic program is jointly offered by the Department of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Three consecutive course work are followed by one to three optional cooperation periods. During these cooperation periods, students can obtain practical work experience to supplement their knowledge in the classroom.
