Bachelor of Business Administration:

Businesses play an important role in the structure and functioning of contemporary society. Rapid changes in technology, resource allocation, economic structure changes, consumer preferences, global competition, and changes in the labor market require a better understanding of the role and nature of business in today's society. 

BBA provides comprehensive business education, focusing on global business operations, emerging markets, and technical support organizations. Students have in-depth knowledge of one of the business specialties and learn a wide range of management skills, problem-solving, and communication skills. Electives provide flexibility, adaptability, and creativity and prepare graduates for various careers in global management, management, entrepreneurship, and a variety of graduate opportunities.

The VIU Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) enables elective courses to enhance students' understanding of the knowledge and applied connections between the social sciences, humanities, and business. Students will develop an appreciation and understanding of achieving organizational goals in an often diverse and turbulent external environment. Lectures are enhanced through seminars, research projects, and computer simulations. Encourage students to choose social studies and humanities. 

Graduates of the first two years of the Diploma in Business Administration will enter the third year of the BBA and will receive credits for the courses that are part of their diploma. Upon completing the first two years of BBA study, students who apply will receive a diploma in business administration.

The eligibility for Bachelor of Business Administration in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

Canadian citizens and those with permanent residence status in Canada are eligible for admission to University Academic programs if they meet one of the following conditions:

  • graduation from a B.C. secondary school, or equivalent, with a minimum “C” grade in either English 12 or English 12 First Peoples;
  • visiting student from a college or university (a “Letter of Permission” from the home institution is required);
  • a transfer student from a college or university (at least 24 transferable university-level credits completed);
  • English 12 with a minimum "C+" grade or equivalent.
  • A minimum "C+" grade in one of Principles of Mathematics 11, Applications of Mathematics 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, Pre-calculus 11, or equivalent. A mathematics assessment and placement examination is available for applicants without this admission requirement.

N.B: Most universities have specific international admission requirements based on different education systems.

  • IELTS(academic): 6.5
