Program Overview for Psychology(Phd) in Canada:

The Department of Psychology has approximately 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students.  Faculty have active research programs in many areas of psychology, many of which rely on volunteers from the community.

Psychology is also part of the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) program, which offers both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Interested students should apply directly to the CABE program.

The PhD program involves courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis, and can be completed in four years of full-time study. Students can focus their research areas on behavioural neuroscience, cognition, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, or social psychology.

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of study. If you are applying to work in the area of Behavioural Neuroscience, then the GRE is not required. For all other areas, the GRE is required.
