The eligibility for Master of Science Biochemistry in Canada for both domestic and international student is:

• Have one of the following:
  • A bachelor’s degree with a specialization or a major (or equivalent) in science with a minimum average of 75% (B+).
  • An MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree with a minimum average of 75% (B+).
  • A DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree with a minimum average of 75% (B+).

• Demonstrate a good academic performance in previous studies as shown by official transcripts, research reports, abstracts or any other documents demonstrating research skills.
• Identify at least one professor who is willing to supervise your research and thesis.
  • We recommend that you contact potential thesis supervisors as soon as possible.
  • To register, you need to have been accepted by a thesis supervisor.
  • The supervisor’s name is required at the time of application.

• A letter of intent outlining your career goals and proposed research area. We recommend that you contact potential thesis supervisors early. To register, you need to be accepted by a thesis supervisor.
• International students must show proof of funding in the form of a supervisor stipend and a combination of scholarships and/or in-trust accounts. Good knowledge of either English or French and a good ability to write in English is required.
• Please note that non-required admission documents will not be consulted, conserved, or returned to the student. These documents will be destroyed according to our administrative procedures.

To be eligible for the differential tuition fee exemption you must:

• be admitted to a program of studies offered only in French OR
• have a secondary or postsecondary diploma in French attesting to a minimum of two years of study, and for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (English and French), enroll for the compulsory courses offered in French

The differential tuition fee exemption cannot be combined with the Education Bursary for International Master’s Students or the International Doctoral Scholarship.
