Program Overview for BSc/BA in Ocean Sciences in Canada:

Rapid scientific and technological advances in a variety of fields are accelerating the growth of the global ocean economy. Dalhousie’s ocean sciences program qualifies you for entry-level or technician positions in a variety of exciting fields:
- marine technology
- renewable energies
- ocean literacy and education
- climate change
- ocean policy
An undergraduate degree in ocean sciences is a strong foundation for pursuing masters and professional degrees, such as Master of Science (MSc), Master of Marine Management (MMM), Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM), Master of Business Administration, law and ocean technology.

Minimum admission requirements:
- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- A minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
- A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 academic English and any other required subject (see list below)
Please note: Admission to many programs at Dalhousie is competitive; meeting the minimum average doesn’t guarantee admission. Typically, 70% or higher is necessary in all required subjects for early admission.
If you don’t currently meet these requirements, you may be eligible for one of our upgrading or pathway programs.
