Microbiologists study microorganisms and viruses. Among other things, immunologists want to know how larger organisms (such as humans) respond to foreign objects, many of which are very small. These two disciplines are thus inextricably linked. Studying them together means you’ll be widely prepared for future career opportunities.

Studying Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie will bring you closer to a number of challenging careers in different areas related to medical science. You could find yourself in any of the following careers after graduation (further study may be required):
Future study possibilities are abundant with a degree in Microbiology and Immunology. You may choose to pursue graduate level programs such as a Master of Science (MSc) in topics such as pathology, microbiology, immunology or virology and eventually a PhD. You may choose to combine your knowledge of science with business and complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
