Program Overview for BSc in Environmental Sciences in Canada:

Do you want to become part of the solution to our world’s complex environmental issues and help improve our quality of life in the future? The Environmental Sciences program offered through Dalhousie's Faculty of Agriculture at the Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S. can get you there. Our program teaches students to analyze complex environmental issues and develop practical solutions that consider the impacts on the environment, society and our economy.

Careers and future study:

Completing the Environmental Sciences program opens the door to a variety of employment opportunities in a diverse and developing industry. Graduates of this program enter the workforce with a strong scientific orientation and perspective that ensures they’re in demand. You could find yourself employed as any of the following:

• conservation officer
• environmental consultant
• environmental policy analyst
• recycling coordinator
• environmental educator

Future study possibilities may include graduate-level programs in Agricultural Resource and Environmental Sciences in any of the following areas of study: Agriculture Systems Management, Entomology, Food Biochemistry, Food Product Development, Resource Management, Soil Chemistry, and many more.

After you complete your master's, you’ll be ready to pursue a Ph.D. and conduct your own research.

You’ll need to meet the general admission requirements as well as the program specific admission requirements before you can apply.

Minimum admission requirements:

1. Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
2. A minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
3. A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 academic English and any other required subject (see list below)

Please note: Admission to many programs at Dalhousie is competitive; meeting the minimum average doesn’t guarantee admission. Typically, 70% or higher is necessary in all required subjects for early admission.

If you don’t currently meet these requirements, you may be eligible for one of our upgrading or pathway programs.

International High School Applicant Requirment Based on Curriculum:

1. Advanced Placement (AP)
2. Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE)
3. French Baccalauréat
4. GCE A Level (British System)
5. Home-schooled applicants
6. International Baccalaureate (IB)
7. US Curriculum
