Program Overview for Bachelor of Health Science in Canada:

We’re a nationally accredited school that offers a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) in four professional disciplines: Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiological Technology, and Respiratory Therapy. We also offer Medical Laboratory Technology in the Post Diploma program.

We’re the only fully integrated four-year university-based program of this kind in Canada.

Careers and future study:

As a graduate of the School of Health Sciences you'll be in demand and highly valued. You might find yourself working in a large hospital or a small clinic, dealing directly with patients or working in a lab. Or you could take a different route and end up in a career with a pharmaceutical company, a government agency, or even teaching the next generation of Health Sciences students. Example careers include:

• medical sonographer
• nuclear medicine technologist
• clinical education/application speacialist

Future studies could include programs at the graduate level in science or a professional degree in medicine or pathology.

You’ll need to meet the general admission requirements as well as the program specific admission requirements before you can apply.

Minimum admission requirements:

1. Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
2. A minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
3. A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 academic English and any other required subject (see list below)

Please note: Admission to many programs at Dalhousie is competitive; meeting the minimum average doesn’t guarantee admission. Typically, 70% or higher is necessary in all required subjects for early admission.

If you don’t currently meet these requirements, you may be eligible for one of our upgrading or pathway programs.

International High School Applicant Requirment Based on Curriculum:

1. Advanced Placement (AP)
2. Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE)
3. French Baccalauréat
4. GCE A Level (British System)
5. Home-schooled applicants
6. International Baccalaureate (IB)
7. US Curriculum

You'll be assessed based on the equivalency of your home country.
