Our department is interdisciplinary, comparative, and critically engaged. Our graduate programs are small, collegial and selective. We pride ourselves on the faculty support we offer our graduate students.
Our MA students are highly competitive candidates for places in PhD programs across Canada and internationally. Many have been awarded major fellowships in support of their doctoral studies. Others have gone on to careers in policy, law, the non-profit sector, and education.
Our graduate students are active and engaged scholars, who disseminate their research in a variety of ways. For example, between 2009 and 2012, Sociology and Social Anthropology (SoSA) graduate students presented a total of 38 papers at conferences and workshops.
We recommend that you contact a faculty member who works in your area about your research interests prior to the submission of your application.
