Acadia's physics curriculum studies the interrelationships and interactions that are critical to understanding how the world works. By understanding these principles, physics graduates have historically developed new concepts and new technologies, enabling them to easily move between disciplines to solve practical problems in many fields. After the first year of study, paid student positions can be used as help center tutors and laboratory assistants.
After the second and third years, there are many opportunities to conduct paid summer research projects, whether in local or international research centers, such as CERN, as part of the undergraduate thesis. Group work, teaching in a laboratory or help center, student classroom presentations, summer research, and attending conferences all help to gain the research and communication skills needed for graduate study or work.
Get inspired:
The Arcadia Department of Physics has cultivated a sense of community, and our faculty and staff are proud of our undergraduates. Our plan is based on creating an environment dedicated to your success, and our dedicated faculty and staff are consistently recognized for their excellent teaching. Interdisciplinary and joint degrees are common and encouraged in science schools, and are possible in all schools. The most common supplement to physics is mathematics.
Future Careers:
Completion of Grade -12 or High School or Equivalent. All applications must be supported by official copies of all high school transcripts and other records of academic work.
Transcripts should be certified by the school and prepared in a sealed envelope by the school. They can either be sent to Acadia directly from the school or given to the student to send. Certified transcripts acceptable to Acadia will be used as a basis of admission.
Admission requirements differ depending on the student's educational system. We review all applications from international students individually
International Schools:
Other Admission Guidelines:
Completion of High School or Grade -12 or Equivalent. Admission Requirements Vary from province to province.
Canadian High Schools:
