Acadia University’s School of Nutrition and Nutrition has a vibrant research community and well-trained teachers who will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need for a career in this increasingly important field.
You will gain an understanding of food and have an appreciation for current nutritional and dietary issues. You will gain a solid knowledge of biology and chemistry, which is applied to the study of food and nutrient metabolism. Combined with courses in the fields of statistics, communication, psychology, and nutrition education, this experience prepares you to work effectively with individuals, families, and communities to plan, develop, and manage related nutrition programs.
Outside of the classroom, you can participate in many activities such as our school’s Student Association (NADS), Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals (CAFP), Slow Food, Acadia Student Government (ASU), and Acadia Farms.
