Acadia's Political Science Graduate Program cultivates a close relationship between graduate students and teachers to provide a flexible and rigorous academic foundation. You will receive a comprehensive orientation in the fields of Canadian politics, comparative politics, international relations and political theory, and you will undertake an extended research project under the supervision of one or more of our professors. You will receive rigorous training in this subject, ready to continue studying for a PhD.
The training also prepares you to work in the public and private sectors, as well as in the fields of journalism, propaganda, development and international organization, education, and law.
Be Inspired:
In Arcadia's small, selective political science graduate program, you'll benefit from small class sizes and personalized attention, as well as access to teachers with diverse research interests. Many of our students are drawn to the small scale of Arcadia University and the town of Wolfville, an intimate community located in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley.
Wolfville and the surrounding area have a vibrant cultural scene, a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops, as well as great locations for outdoor activities, giving you a warm and exciting home.
The Department of Political Science at Arcadia University offers a 12-month dissertation-based Master of Arts (MA) course for a small group of selected students. These students come from the Atlantic region, Canada, and around the world. The program promotes a close relationship between master's students and professors to provide a flexible and rigorous academic foundation.
The program provides comprehensive training in this subject for students who wish to continue pursuing a doctorate. It also prepares students to work in the public and private sectors in the fields of journalism, advocacy, development and international organization, education, and law. Your master's degree in politics will help you combine great ideas with urgent practice.
