The Master of Applied Psychology (Forensic Psychology) provides training in an active and dynamic research atmosphere, using professional, scientific methods to conduct scientific research on human behavior in the judicial system. Forensic psychology investigates all aspects of human behavior related to legal procedures and applies this knowledge to legal procedures. Graduates will have the skills to perform applied work in the judicial system or further study at the doctoral level in forensic psychology.
The college will offer various courses, including forensic testing and measurement, corrective psychology, and the latest developments in investigative methods. Our students will apply their learning during internships in the field and through teaching and research grants. Students will also conduct and defend their original research through their master's thesis.

The Master of Science in Applied Psychology (Forensic Psychology) trains students to examine and understand human behavior related to legal procedures. Please note that this is not a clinical title. Graduates will have a deep understanding of quantitative research methods that can be applied in the following areas:
Graduates will gain evidence-based knowledge about the relationship between psychology and law in the Canadian judicial system, including understanding criminal behavior and managing offenders. Graduates who have received education and training in forensic psychology can contribute to the judicial system, public services, and university teaching and research.

Full-time students admitted to the program may be eligible to receive funds administered by St. Mary's University. The plan makes funding proposals. All successful applicants will be automatically considered for graduate funding. Encourage students to apply for external scholarships.
The Graduate Scholarship Competition is judged by the Department of Psychology based on GPA, GRE scores, research experience, and recommendation form. The department also offers graduate teaching assistant scholarships to assist professors in the course and laboratory teaching.
